Brief Description: Left wing skeleton prep part #4
Got the left wing into the wing stand. Used a bit of angle and a 1/2 inch piece of oak, along with 7/16 nuts and bolts.
I determined the area of the rib that would not be affected by the extra two holes, drilled a #30 pilot, then and clecoed the angle to it. The angle of course was scotchbrited.
Drilled both holes into the rib, removed the angle and then drilled the 7/16th hole into both the angle and then the rib. I then clamped the 1/2 oak to the angle, matched drilled that with the 7/16th drilled bit. I also added a doubler to the inside of the rib so that the nuts wouldn't damage the rib.
I still have to properly level the wing and get the sag out of the middle. Quite happy with the results.
Outboard rib attached to the stand
This is actually the left wing, not the wight one
1/2 inch oak as a spacer so that I can get the wing skins on.
